Enders Game playing at the Darkside.

Posted by Shuva Brata Deb (Bangalore, India) on 3 October 2005 in Sport & Recreation.

This is the Enders Game heavy metal band playing at the Darkside bar.

I was aksed to take pictures for them. It is a photographer's nightmare when you get only this exposure at ISO1600-3/5 secs. (my first ISO 1600 shot). Most of the time there was only 1 of these lights on. To make things worse they let out those white smoke which my flash would lit up. Keep tuned for some good shots this week.

Another picture of the band is here.

I find Noiseware a great tool for noise reduction.

Great colours! It looks like you've done a good job with the noise reduction. Just be thankful you're shooting digital and you have ISO1600! ;) Another trick is if you're shooting RAW, just underexpose the shot and then adjust it later in post-production.

shooting bands is hard to get the natural stage light colors - good job on this one!

Another trick if you are shooting one person under the lights is to use your flash but set the flash exposure compensation to about minus 1 to 2 stops. This should freeze the action and illuminate your subject while keeping the colorful ambient light.

Good colors and good expression of the concert atmosphere.

I was at the same concert & managed about 15 pictures with no problem. If you want to see them, drop me a line: cjburch [AT] gmail [DOT] com
