Napping babyPosted by Shuva Brata Deb (Bangalore, India) on 21 February 2008 in People & Portrait. This is from her second day. Her mother had to go through an emergency cesarean operation. The baby refused to eat anything the first day and so she was in the Neonatal ICU for the first 24 hours. Fortunately she came back to normal naturally in the next 12 hours. She was given to her mother only after 24 hours. Now both mother and baby are normal and back home. She is yet to get a name. Mother and father are stilling negotiating -- we have got 15 days before we need to register her name.

Nishana Minhaz from Calicut, Indiacongrats! she's adorable.. looks so much at peace with the new world she's found.. :) 21 Feb 2008 7:22am Aaron Schmidt from Auckland, New ZealandGlad to hear that both mother and baby are doing well. It can be very nerve-racking those first few days when you can't do anything to help. I'm sure Lipika is very happy to be close to her baby. I found this good list of Indian names. =) Otherwise you could create an online survey and vote on her name! Heheh. 21 Feb 2008 10:25am ManuelaR from Hainburg, GermanyGood to hear all is well now! 21 Feb 2008 12:46pm Jan from Bruges, Belgiumoh... so cute indeed. It is so stressful when things do not go as expected ... which you realise later they never do! Lots of rest and support to Lipika. All our thoughts are with you guys. 22 Feb 2008 4:37am Leslie Horacek from Brussels, BelgiumSuch a sweet little girl...I like the idea that you are still negotiating names. It gives you a chance to meet her and see what feels right. 22 Feb 2008 1:09pm Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaI'm glad to hear that all is well again now. Another nice portrait in this series.
