AHA! You have dust in your sensor! Check out the blue sky for those black splotches. Anyway, I took similar photos during my trip to a lake here in the Philippines and when I got home and looked at the photos, mine had dust too :(

However, compared to yours, mine was really worse. About your photo, I think the composition is great. Including the boat gives a sense of how tall those trees really are. The lighting though is quite harsh. Well you can't do anything about the sun lol.
