October 2nd, Gandhiji's BirthdayPosted by Shuva Brata Deb (Bangalore, India) on 2 October 2006 in People & Portrait. Today is Mahatma Gandhi's birthday--the Father of the Nation occupies a place in almost all Indian's currency notes, perhaps reminding the users of this piece of paper not to make it as the reason of violence(which unfortunately is---Money is the root of violence all over the world) What is see here is a Rs. 500 Indian currency, backlit so that you can see the water mark (the left face) and also the famous Dandi March which is printed on the other side. The other one is about a goddess durga who kill evil violently. On a day when non-violence should be praticed people were killing chicken and lambs as offerings to the godess durga. 3 Oct 2006 2:10am |
