Cabbie at KolkataPosted by Shuva Brata Deb (Bangalore, India) on 3 May 2006 in People & Portrait. This picture: Kolkata(Calcutta) has still not grown modern like its counterpart metros. Life on the streets is still 20-30 years old. They still have those old fashioned yellow colored cabs running. This is one of them. Its an HRD on the single image (-2, 0, +1). Without the HRD the outside vehicles were blown out and the dash board was too dark.

Aaron Schmidt from Auckland, New ZealandA little overdone ... has a kind of fake feeling. But I really like the scene with the driver, the cars, the bike and the dashboard. 3 May 2006 6:01am Madhu from Hyderabad, IndiaHope the new government going to be elected from the ongoing elections would improve the situation there... 3 May 2006 7:34am Kerstin from Paris, FranceI don't really agree with Aaron. I really like this shot and the postproduction you chose. It reminds me a little an old film ... 3 May 2006 8:01am Shuva from Hyderabad, IndiaI actually agree with Aaron, its a little out of place.....but I really dont know whay precisely is wrong. 3 May 2006 11:25am Ashish Sidapara from Singapore, SingaporeHas a very b&w studio feel to it, nice one! 3 May 2006 11:44am Jason Kravitz from Brussels, BelgiumI agree with Kerstin and Aaron! A bit overdone on a great scene but the effect looks like it was taken in 1942! I forgot they drive on the wrong side in India - bah! 3 May 2006 12:34pm Chander Dogra from IndiaNot an expert on photography, but the picture doesn't look like 20 yrs old, probably its the brightness of the photo. 4 May 2006 4:04am Wolf from Sherwood Park, CanadaThis is a really cool photo, I like what you did with it! 6 May 2006 3:03am Suby from Milton Keynes, United KingdomI am not a fan of HDR, however it makes this shot even better, not many times have I seen the merits of HDR, I can gladly say this is one of those few times it works. Good shot and very good idea to enhance it further with HDR (still don't like HDR though) Suby 6 May 2006 9:26am |
